Mount Vernon Honor Academy celebrates veterans and discuss Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
Mount Vernon Honor Academy held an assembly on Thursday, November 9, 2023, in recognition of Veterans Day. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), a framework designed to improve student behavior, were also discussed as they celebrated veteran heroes.
They talked about what it entails to be an Honor Academy Hero with the PBIS framework. Students were excited to hear from veteran guest speakers and asked many questions relating to their honorable service.

Mount Vernon Honor Academy held PTA Movie Night on Friday, November 17, 2023. Students and their families attended and watched a fun movie in the gymnasium and enjoyed some movie snacks.

Children arrived at school with their parents and were ushered into the gymnasium and cafeteria to play basketball with their dads at Mount Vernon Honor Academy. On Thursday, October 12, 2023, MVHA held its second annual Dunk with Dads.

Fifth-grade students at Mount Vernon Honor Academy took it back to the basics by participating in a "book tasting." This event allowed the student’s the opportunity to sample and review novels.

Mount Vernon Honor Academy Students will be participating in the National Young Authors Book Fair. This event aims to celebrate and showcase the creative writing talents of young students from across the country.

Mount Vernon Honor Academy hosted its annual Kindergarten Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Families, along with their incoming kindergarten scholars, stopped by to meet the administration, their new teachers and members of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).

On June 9, 2023, The Mount Vernon Honor Academy held its 23rd annual Career Day for grades K-6. Since 1998, staff at MVHA have been hosting the Career Day. The theme for this year was "Passport to Success." At this career event, students had the opportunity to hear about local careers to better understand what is available in the area.

Mount Vernon Honor Academy recognized College Day on Friday, May 5, 2023, in honor of College Signing Day. College Signing Day is an opportunity to celebrate students' commitments to pursue their education past high school.
